Websol Energy System Ltd., a leading Indian solar cell and module manufacturer, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Linton, a global leader in PV ingot and wafer equipment technology, to explore manufacturing opportunities in India.
Under the proposed collaboration, Websol plans to acquire PV ingot and wafer manufacturing equipment from Linton. In addition, Linton will provide technical expertise, including training and skill development for Websol’s team, to optimise equipment operations and related processes.
Linton Crystal Technologies, based in Rochester, New York, is renowned for its Czochralski (CZ) furnaces and advanced process control systems used to produce high-quality crystals for photovoltaic applications. With more than three decades of innovation, the company offers a comprehensive suite of equipment for efficient ingot and wafer production.
As India accelerates its solar capacity expansion, this partnership aims to support the country’s energy security and sustainability goals, further strengthening Websol’s position as a technology-driven leader in the solar manufacturing sector.

By advancing ingot and wafer capabilities, Websol aims to reduce reliance on imported raw materials and tap into emerging opportunities in India’s growing solar industry.
