Indices trade lower amid volatility; realty stocks gain, IT, auto drag

Indian benchmark indices continued to trade lower weighed down by IT, Auto, oil & gas indices which were down 1 percent each.



Shares of Eris Lifesciences jumped almost 10 percent in trade on December 6 after the company, on December 3, announced that it has formed a 10-year joint venture with MJ Biopharm to enter the insulin segment.



At 10:45 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 57464.97 down by -231.49 points or by -0.4 % and then NSE Nifty was at 17132.05 down by -64.65 points or by -0.38 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 57781.46 and intraday low of 57342.84 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 17216.75 and intraday low of 17094.6



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Tata Steel Ltd. (Rs. 1132.85,+1.33%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 724.15,+1.05%), Larsen & Toubro Ltd. (Rs. 1813.45,+0.64%), Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 2788.40,+0.63%), State Bank of India (Rs. 475.05,+0.39%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1148.00,-1.96%), Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. (Rs. 7084.70,-1.63%), Asian Paints Ltd. (Rs. 3060.00,-1.63%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 937.05,-1.49%), Infosys Ltd. (Rs. 1710.75,-1.39%), among others.



Realty index was at 3907.28 up by 36.03 points or by 0.93%. Prestige Estates Projects Ltd. (Rs. 451.55,+3.31%), Sobha Ltd. (Rs. 854.75,+3.29%), Phoenix Mills Ltd. (Rs. 1019.90,+2.71%), Oberoi Realty Ltd. (Rs. 864.10,+1.24%), Godrej Industries Ltd. (Rs. 2043.60,+1.01%),.



IT index was at 34612.16 down by -438.11 points or by -1.25%. HCL Infosystems Ltd. (Rs. 19.15,-4.96%), Datamatics Global Services Ltd. (Rs. 289.55,-4.09%), Mastek Ltd. (Rs. 2776.20,-3.35%), Nazara Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 2302.05,-2.36%), Larsen & Toubro Infotech Ltd. (Rs. 6691.35,-2.28%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3466 , shares advanced were 1797 while 1473 shares declined and 196 were unchanged.
