LTIMindtree, a global technology consulting and digital solutions company, has partnered with the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) and the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) to launch the country’s first Artificial Intelligence (AI) Film Festival and Hackathon. The initiative will take place from November 20 to 28, 2025, during the 56th edition of IFFI in Goa.
Since its inception in 1952, IFFI has served as a global stage for cinematic excellence, jointly organised by NFDC, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, and the Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG). The festival celebrates Indian and international cinema while fostering creative exchange among filmmakers and industry professionals worldwide.
Through this collaboration, LTIMindtree’s BlueVerse CraftStudio and NFDC aim to build a pioneering platform that explores the convergence of filmmaking and emerging technologies. The AI Film Festival and Hackathon will enable filmmakers, technologists, and innovators to experiment with AI-based storytelling tools and present new creative possibilities for the future of cinema. The initiative reflects IFFI’s commitment to technological advancement in filmmaking and strengthens India’s positioning in AI-led cinematic innovation.
Festival Director and Jury Chair of the IFFI AI Film Festival, Shekhar Kapur, said that AI offers a new dimension to human imagination and will reshape creative expression in cinema. Dr. Sujay Sen, Executive Vice President & Global Head of Interactive Services at LTIMindtree, noted that the future of storytelling lies at the intersection of human creativity and AI, and the initiative will help bring AI-driven innovation into India’s creative economy. NFDC Managing Director Shri Prakash Magdum added that this partnership will extend IFFI’s legacy of nurturing emerging voices and technologies while encouraging responsible and inclusive use of AI in filmmaking.
The event will feature AI-generated film screenings, a 48-hour hackathon for developers and creators to design AI storytelling tools, and workshops and masterclasses on the role of AI in cinema, ethics, and production. International participation from other AI film festivals is also expected, promoting global collaboration and cross-credit recognition for innovators.
