SBI Q1 net profit up 10.23% at Rs 21121.22 cr

The bank reported standalone net profit of Rs 21,121.22 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 as compared to Rs 19160.44 crore in the same period last year, registering a year-on-yearÿgrowthÿof 10.23 per cent.

Interest income of the bank rose by 8.39 per cent at Rs 127896.46 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 as against Rs 117995.88 crore in the corresponding period last year.

During the April-June quarter, total income rose moderately by 6.26 per cent to Rs 1,43,819.15 crore from Rs 1,35,341.56 crore in the year ago period.

Meanwhile, operating expenses increased by 5.24 per cent to Rs 1,10,289.97 crore from Rs 1,04,797.09 crore in the same period last year.

Operating profit surged 9.77 per cent to Rs 33,529.18 crore from Rs. 30,544.47 crore.

Provisions and Contingencies surged by 6.04 per cent at Rs 5,046.77 crore from Rs 4,759.20 crore a year ago.

NII, the difference between interest earned on loans and interest paid on deposits, increased by 14.41 per cent at Rs 46,992.44 crore versus Rs 41,072.49 crore in the year ago period. Non-interest income dipped 8.20 per cent year-on-year to Rs 15,922.69 crore.

On the asset side, gross non- performing assets (NPAs)ÿfellÿto 1.47 per cent of the gross advances as at the end of June 30, 2026 from a level of 1.83 per cent year earlier. Its net NPAs or bad loans tooÿdeclinedÿto 0.38 per cent of net advances on June 30, 2026 from 0.47 per cent a year ago.
