Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has appointed Manepalli Sridhar as Director (Human Resources), effective October 22, 2026, following communication from the Ministry of Heavy Industries and approval by the company’s Board.

Sridhar will hold the position until his superannuation on August 31, 2028, or until further orders, whichever is earlier. He has also declared that he is not debarred from holding the office of director under any order issued by SEBI or any other relevant authority.

Prior to his appointment, Sridhar served as Executive Director (Human Resources) at BHEL’s Corporate Office in New Delhi, where he led the company’s corporate HR function and oversaw key human resource policies and strategic initiatives.

A mechanical engineering graduate from CBIT, Osmania University, Hyderabad, he holds an M.Tech in CAD/CAM from JNTU, Hyderabad, and a postgraduate diploma in business administration from XLRI, Jamshedpur. He joined BHEL as an engineer trainee in 1990 and brings over 36 years of experience across manufacturing, commercial operations, project execution, industrial relations and human resource management.

During his career, Sridhar has held several leadership positions at BHEL’s Hyderabad unit and Corporate Office, overseeing functions including turbine and compressor manufacturing, contracts management, marketing, project execution, industrial relations and corporate HR. His appointment is expected to bring extensive operational and human resource management experience to the company’s leadership.
