The government of India said it will try to sort-out the U.K visa problem, as the students who were seeking visas for U.K were hited by the Britain's freezing of the applications at the 3 centres in the northern region.

From 1st of February, along with northern India, student visa applications from Bangladesh and Nepal too will not be accepted temporarily by Britain, which feared foul play after it faced an alarming increase in student visa applications.

Britain also warned of tough action against those indulging in illegal way of getting student visas. The decision is expected to be reviewed at the end of February.

Preneet Kaur, Minister of state for External Affairs said the U.K have said that it will take some time to resolve the matter, as a lot of applications have been sent.

She said the government will try to see that the students have some possibility to take forward their visa applications.

During October and December 2009, the visa applications of 13,500 students were received at the 3 centres - Delhi, Chandigarh and Jalandhar, as compared to 1,800 applications received in the corresponding period in 2008.
