There is a substantial rise in American aid to the Pakistan as Mr. Obama (U.S president) has proposed $3.2 billion in assistance in the fiscal 2011. Deputy Secretary of State for Management Resources Jacob Lew said the budget help train and equip Pakistani security forces to fight Islamist militants and also asked for a big hike in economic aid for Islamabad. The main focus of the budget is to improve necessary infrastructure.

President Obama said funding for Pakistan in financial year 2011 is $3.2 billion and in 2010 it had come down with the fall of $1.88 billion. His aim is to provide all the major facilities needed by the military to wage an effective counterterrorist campaign and as well as to improve stability.

President Obama offered $1.2 billion (US$1.69 billion) for the Pakistan Counterinsurgency Capability Fund for fiscal 2011, a jump from US$700 million budgeted the previous year for the fund to help Pakistan defeat extremists within its own borders.
