PM Modi inaugurates Rising North East Investors Summit 2025

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Rising North East Investors Summit 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, emphasizing the region’s vast investment potential across sectors like trade, tourism, energy, and organic farming. He praised the Northeast as the most diverse region in India and highlighted its transformation over the past decade through improved infrastructure, peace initiatives, and government support.

PM Modi noted major advancements, including thousands of kilometers of highways, expanded rail and air connectivity, and strategic projects like the Sela Tunnel and the Northeast Gas Grid. He positioned the Northeast as India’s gateway to ASEAN, citing enhanced regional trade links like the India-Myanmar-Thailand Trilateral Highway and the Kaladan Multimodal Transit Project.

The PM also spotlighted the region’s role in India’s wellness, organic food, and digital innovation movements. Key initiatives include the Heal in India campaign, food processing units, and semiconductor manufacturing in Assam. Significant investments have also been made in education, sports, and skill development to tap into the region’s youthful talent.

Calling the summit more than an event, Modi described it as a movement to turn the "Ashtalakshmi" vision of Northeast prosperity into reality. He urged business leaders to seize the “first mover advantage” and make the region a central pillar of a developed India.

The event was attended by Union ministers and chief ministers from all Northeastern states, reaffirming a united push for regional growth and national progress.
