SpiceJet finalises lease deal to add five Boeing 737 Aircraft

SpiceJet has finalized a lease agreement to induct five Boeing 737 aircraft into its fleet. The aircraft are expected to be delivered in October 2025, just ahead of the winter schedule, and will serve increased travel demand during the peak winter and early summer 2026 seasons.

These aircraft will be inducted on a damp lease basis, wherein the operational crew will be shared between SpiceJet and the leasing partner.

This move is part of the airline’s broader strategy to expand capacity in anticipation of growing passenger traffic. SpiceJet is also in advanced talks with other lessors to further augment its fleet and strengthen both its domestic and international network.

Commenting on the development, Debojo Maharshi, Chief Business Officer at SpiceJet, said,"We’re pleased to finalize this lease agreement for five Boeing 737 aircraft. This addition will significantly enhance our fleet strength and help us offer an improved flying experience to our passengers. As we gear up for a strong winter schedule, we are actively exploring further fleet expansions."
