Shri Amit Agrawal, Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers, inaugurated the India MedTech Expo 2025 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, on September 4. Addressing the industry, he urged stakeholders to leverage growth opportunities, noting that India’s share in global MedTech demand is expected to rise from 2% today to 17% by 2047 in line with its population and purchasing power.
The three-day event (Sept 4–6), organized by the Department of Pharmaceuticals in association with multiple ministries and industry bodies, aims to position India as a global MedTech hub.
At the CEO Roundtable, senior officials and industry leaders discussed innovation, regulation, and market growth. Dr. Rajiv Bahl, Secretary, Department of Health Research and DG-ICMR, highlighted the need for high-quality, affordable diagnostics at the peripheral level. DCGI Dr. Rajiv Singh Raghuvanshi underlined regulatory reforms to make processes simpler and industry-friendly, while MSME Additional Secretary Dr. Rajneesh stressed democratizing procurement to cut costs.
The expo features over 150 international buyers from 30+ countries, alongside strong support from leading industry associations, providing a platform for global partnerships and investments in India’s expanding MedTech ecosystem.
