Navitas and Cyient Semiconductors form strategic partnership to Boost GaN Adoption in India’s High-Power Markets

Navitas Semiconductor Corporation, a global leader in GaN and SiC power semiconductors, and Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited have entered into a long-term strategic partnership aimed at accelerating gallium nitride (GaN) technology deployment across India. The collaboration seeks to establish a comprehensive GaN ecosystem supporting high-voltage and high-power market applications.

Through this initiative, both companies will co-develop GaN products, mixed-signal and digital ICs, GaN-based system modules, and design enablement platforms catering to sectors such as AI data centers, electric mobility, advanced computing, energy grid infrastructure and industrial electrification.

The partnership supports the Government of India’s Make in India vision by building a secure local GaN supply chain and manufacturing ecosystem. It will leverage Navitas’ proven semiconductor technologies while tailoring new products to suit India’s unique market requirements. Cyient will work on localized manufacturing and supply-chain capabilities to shorten development timelines for OEMs and accelerate adoption.

Suman Narayan, CEO of Cyient Semiconductors, emphasized that the partnership combines Navitas’ GaN expertise with Cyient’s design, manufacturing and supply-chain strengths, enabling a self-sustaining semiconductor ecosystem in India. Chris Allexandre, President and CEO of Navitas, noted that GaN market growth in India could outpace global trends, adding that the partnership aims to foster innovation “by India, for the world.”

The collaboration intends to empower Indian OEMs and design houses with locally sourced GaN solutions, reducing barriers to adoption and supporting faster, scalable semiconductor development across critical technology sectors.
