Indian Coast Guard commissions fast patrol vessel ‘Amulya’ in Goa

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) on December 19, 2025 commissioned ICG Ship Amulya, the third of eight new-generation Adamya-class Fast Patrol Vessels, at Goa. Designed and built by Goa Shipyard Limited, the 51-metre vessel features over 60 per cent indigenous components, underscoring India’s push towards defence self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make-in-India initiatives.

Powered by two 3,000 KW diesel engines, Amulya has a top speed of 27 knots and an operational endurance of 1,500 nautical miles. The vessel is equipped with indigenous, state-of-the-art weapons and systems, offering high manoeuvrability, operational flexibility and enhanced performance at sea.

The ship will undertake missions including maritime surveillance, interdiction, search and rescue, anti-smuggling operations and pollution response, strengthening the Coast Guard’s coastal security capabilities.

Amulya will be based at Paradip in Odisha and operate under the Commander, Coast Guard Region (North East). Commanded by Commandant (JG) Anupam Singh, the vessel has a crew of five officers and 34 personnel.

The commissioning ceremony was presided over by Joint Secretary (IC), Ceremonial & CAO, Amitabh Prasad, and attended by senior officials from the Indian Coast Guard, central and state governments, and Goa Shipyard Limited.
