The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched the 73rd round of its Order Books, Inventories and Capacity Utilisation Survey (OBICUS) for the January–March 2026 quarter.
The quarterly survey, conducted since 2008, gathers key data from the manufacturing sector, including new orders, pending orders, production levels, and inventory details such as finished goods, work-in-progress, and raw materials.
The survey also estimates capacity utilisation levels and captures reasons for changes in production, providing critical inputs for monetary policy decisions.
Selected manufacturing firms will be approached directly, while others can voluntarily participate by submitting responses through the RBI’s official platform. The central bank has assured that all company-level data will remain strictly confidential.
