Jitin Prasada Inaugurates Global Business Research Conference 2026 at IIFT

Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jitin Prasada inaugurated the Global Business Research Conference (GBRC) 2026 at Indian Institute of Foreign Trade, with the theme “Managing Business Amidst Worldwide Turbulence”.

The conference has brought together academicians, policymakers, researchers, management educators, and industry experts from India and abroad to discuss the evolving challenges and opportunities in the global business landscape.

Addressing the gathering, Jitin Prasada highlighted India's resilience amid global economic uncertainties, noting that the country remains one of the fastest-growing major economies. He emphasized India's progress in strategic sectors such as artificial intelligence, semiconductors, manufacturing, and international trade, reflecting its growing influence in the global economy.

The Minister also acknowledged the role of IIFT in generating policy-oriented research, developing future business leaders, and supporting India's integration with global markets. He expressed confidence that the conference discussions would contribute valuable insights for policymaking and economic growth.

Rakesh Mohan Joshi stated that the conference reflects IIFT's commitment to promoting rigorous research and facilitating dialogue on global trade, business competitiveness, and economic development. He noted that geopolitical developments, changing trade dynamics, and technological disruptions, particularly artificial intelligence, are reshaping the global business environment.

The conference features a range of discussions on topics such as internationalisation of business schools, AI in management education, innovation and entrepreneurship, global trade competitiveness, supply chain management, and public policy. A key session will focus on the role of BRICS economies in a multipolar world amid rising geopolitical uncertainties.

The event has attracted participation from leading academic institutions, including various Indian Institutes of Management, IIT Bombay, ISB, MDI Gurgaon, BIMTECH, Delhi School of Economics, and other prominent universities and research institutions.

The conference will conclude on June 5 with a valedictory session and awards recognising outstanding research papers, doctoral work, and poster presentations.
