Jan Aadhaar goes Digital on DigiLocker, benefiting 7.5 cr Rajasthan Residents

Around 7.5 crore residents of Rajasthan can now access their Jan Aadhaar (Family ID) digitally through the DigiLocker platform, enhancing convenience and improving access to government services.

The integration enables citizens to securely fetch and store their existing Jan Aadhaar credentials in DigiLocker. Additionally, DigiLocker users can apply for a new Jan Aadhaar Family ID digitally and provide consent directly within the platform.

Jan Aadhaar serves as Rajasthan's primary household identity document and is widely used for availing government welfare schemes and public services. Through DigiLocker, citizens can retrieve and share the document instantly, reducing dependence on physical cards and paperwork.

The digital credential supports seamless access to various services linked to the Jan Aadhaar ecosystem, including healthcare benefits under the Chiranjeevi Scheme, Public Distribution System (PDS) services, student scholarships and other welfare programmes.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening digital public infrastructure, promoting paperless governance and improving citizen convenience by enabling secure and easy access to essential documents through the Digital India ecosystem.
