Choice International Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with South Korea's NH Investment & Securities Co. Ltd. (NHIS), which will invest Rs 900 crore (Rs 9,000 million) in its broking and wealth management arm, Choice Equity Broking Pvt. Ltd. (CEBPL).
The investment will be made through Compulsorily Convertible Preference Shares (CCPS) and will serve as growth capital to expand the company's broking, wealth management, investment distribution and capital markets businesses. The funds will also be used to strengthen the margin trading funding (MTF) book, invest in technology, customer acquisition, product innovation, talent development, and business scalability.
Beyond the capital infusion, the partnership will leverage NHIS's expertise in institutional broking, capital markets, technology, governance, risk management and compliance to enhance Choice's institutional capabilities and long-term competitiveness.
Choice said the collaboration aims to achieve five-fold growth in its broking and distribution businesses over the next three years while strengthening its digital capabilities and customer offerings.
Commenting on the development, CEO and Executive Director Arun Poddar said the investment reflects global confidence in Choice's long-term vision and will help accelerate innovation, improve customer experience, and support India's expanding financial services ecosystem. NHIS President and CEO Shin Jae Wook said the partnership will strengthen the company's global business portfolio and create sustainable long-term growth opportunities for both organisations.
