India’s gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections increased 14.8 per cent year-on-year to nearly Rs 2 lakh crore in August, reflecting sustained growth in tax revenues.
GST revenue from domestic transactions rose 9.3 per cent to more than Rs 1.37 lakh crore, while collections from imports jumped 29 per cent to Rs 62,604 crore during the month.
The August collection included Central GST of Rs 38,413 crore, State GST of Rs 46,316 crore and Integrated GST of over Rs 1.15 lakh crore.
