India and Denmark step up cooperation on MSMEs, Innovation and Intellectual Property

India and Denmark have agreed to deepen bilateral cooperation in MSME development, innovation and intellectual property (IP) following the fourth meeting of the India–Denmark Joint Working Group (JWG).

The meeting was held in Copenhagen from August 24 to 28, 2026, bringing together officials from India’s Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises and the Danish Patent and Trademark Office (DKPTO).

The discussions focused on strengthening institutional collaboration and exchanging knowledge on the two countries’ MSME and innovation ecosystems. Key areas included technology adoption, intellectual property, technology commercialisation, entrepreneurship and cluster-based development of MSMEs.

The Indian delegation was led by Dr Rajneesh, Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of MSME, while representatives from the Embassy of India in Copenhagen also participated. The Danish delegation included senior officials from DKPTO and the Royal Danish Embassy in New Delhi.
