Inox Green Energy Solutions Ltd has completed the payment for the acquisition of Wind World India Ltd’s (WWIL) 4.5 GW wind operations and maintenance (O&M) business, marking a major transaction in India’s renewable energy services sector.
The payment was made on October 6, 2026, through Inox Green’s subsidiary Vibhav Energy Pvt Ltd (VEPL) under the Business Transfer Agreement (BTA) signed with WWIL. The business will be transferred to VEPL as a going concern in accordance with the BTA and the resolution plan approved by the NCLT.
The transaction carries a total consideration of Rs 550 crore, including taxes. Inox Green will hold a 75% stake in VEPL following completion of the transfer and implementation of the resolution plan, enabling consolidation of the acquired business.
WWIL’s 4.5 GW O&M portfolio includes customers such as Tata Group, ReNew, Greenko Group, Apraava Energy and Hindustan Zinc, with assets spread across Karnataka, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
The portfolio generated approximately Rs 580 crore in revenue in FY26 and benefits from contracted annual price escalation of around 5%.
Following the transaction, Inox Green’s O&M portfolio stands at approximately 13.3 GWp, including WWIL’s portfolio and a separate 2 GW wind O&M acquisition currently held as an investment. The company aims to leverage operational efficiencies, technology and group synergies to improve revenues and margins from the acquired portfolio.
Supported by capacity additions at Inox Clean Energy and projects executed by Inox Wind, Inox Green said it remains on track to cross 20 GW of O&M capacity in the near term.
