Aurionpro Solutions enters European Transit Market with Finland's Matkahuolto partnership

Aurionpro Solutions has been selected by Finland-based transport and parcel services provider Matkahuolto as the device vendor for its contactless EMV (cEMV) payment project, following a competitive request for proposal (RFP) process. The partnership marks Aurionpro's entry into the European market and supports its expansion in the global public transport technology sector.

Under a Master Service Agreement, Aurionpro will supply its SCV 500 Validator and ECR-one contactless card reader, along with integration services for Matkahuolto's Transport Management System (TMS) and APIs for payment application connectivity.

The solution is designed to enable passengers to pay fares using EMV-compliant bank cards alongside Finland's domestic contactless payment standards, providing a more convenient and reliable payment experience across the public transport network.

Petri Lindqvist, Director of Digital Transport Services at Matkahuolto, said the collaboration would improve passenger convenience and expand support for tickets issued by different operators through Matkahuolto's onboard systems. The initiative is also aimed at making public transport more accessible and flexible across Finland.

Sanjay Bali, President and Global Head of the Tech Innovation Group at Aurionpro, said the partnership represents an important milestone in the company's international expansion. He highlighted the potential to combine contactless validation, payment processing and transport management integration to simplify fare payments for passengers.

Aurionpro expects the engagement to support its efforts to explore further opportunities across Europe, leveraging its transit technology and payment integration capabilities.
