Sensex down 865 pts, Nifty below 24,650 amid Israel-Iran war

Benchmark indices, Nifty50 and Sensex, opened lower on Friday amid rising tensions between Israel and Iran and mixed global cues.



At 9:40 hours, the 30-share benchmark index was trading at 80826.69 down by -865.29 points or by -1.06 % and then NSE Nifty was at 24644.25 down by -243.95 points or by -0.98 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 80914.02 and intraday low of 80354.59 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 24653.15 and intraday low of 24473



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Adani Ports & Special Economic Zone Ltd. (Rs. 1414.00,-2.10%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2085.15,-1.92%), Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3394.35,-1.66%), UltraTech Cement Ltd. (Rs. 11128.00,-1.65%), Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. (Rs. 284.20,-1.59%), among others.



Metal index was at 30797.33 up by -201.28 points or by -0.65%. Vedanta Ltd. (Rs. 462.05,+0.41%),.



CDS index was at 56622.84 down by -770.71 points or by -1.34%. Titan Company Ltd. (Rs. 3394.35,-1.66%), Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd. (Rs. 14306.25,-1.37%), Supreme Industries Ltd. (Rs. 4223.70,-1.35%), Kalyan Jewellers India Ltd. (Rs. 511.75,-1.31%), Havells India Ltd. (Rs. 1537.55,-1.20%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 3299 , shares advanced were 660 while 2500 shares declined and 139 were unchanged.
