Post-Session: Sensex gains 443 pts, Nifty ends at 25,091

After a subdued opening due to global trade headwinds, Indian equity benchmark indices moved higher, supported by strong Q1 earnings from major players such as HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, and Reliance Industries.



The 30-share benchmark index ended at 82200.34 up by 442.61 points or by 0.54 % and then NSE Nifty was at 25090.7 up by 122.3 points or by 0.49 %.



Sensex touched intraday high of 82274.03 and intraday low of 81518.66 The NSE Nifty touched intraday high of 25111.4 and intraday low of 24882.3



The top gainers of the BSE Sensex pack were Eternal Ltd. (Rs. 271.20,+5.38%), ICICI Bank Ltd. (Rs. 1465.85,+2.76%), HDFC Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2000.20,+2.19%), Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (Rs. 3249.90,+1.75%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd. (Rs. 2165.15,+1.14%), among others.



The top losers of the BSE Sensex pack were Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1428.20,-3.29%), IndusInd Bank Ltd. (Rs. 858.60,-1.33%), HCL Technologies Ltd. (Rs. 1530.30,-1.21%), Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. (Rs. 3158.40,-0.99%), Hindustan Unilever Ltd. (Rs. 2464.70,-0.97%), among others.



CGS index was at 71135.53 up by 934.92 points or by 1.33%. ABB India Ltd. (Rs. 5835.00,+3.25%), Bharat Dynamics Ltd. (Rs. 1722.90,+3.08%), Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd. (Rs. 4750.25,+2.10%), Cummins India Ltd. (Rs. 3608.50,+2.08%), Suzlon Energy Ltd. (Rs. 66.41,+2.06%),.



Oil&Gas index was at 27699.45 down by -195.72 points or by -0.7%. Reliance Industries Ltd. (Rs. 1428.20,-3.29%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd. (Rs. 213.60,-0.67%), GAIL (India) Ltd. (Rs. 184.15,-0.62%), Oil And Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. (Rs. 245.05,-0.53%),.



The Market breadth, indicating the overall strength of the market, was weak. On BSE out of total shares traded 4543 , shares advanced were 2068 while 2261 shares declined and 214 were unchanged.
