Indian benchmark indices are expected to open on a weak note on July 20, tracking subdued global cues. GIFT Nifty was trading around 24,309.50 in early trade, indicating a negative start for the domestic markets.

In the previous session, benchmark indices ended firmly higher, driven by strong buying in auto, IT, and banking stocks. Positive sentiment was further supported by optimism ahead of Reliance Industries' June-quarter earnings and value buying in large-cap stocks, helping the markets close on a strong note.
